Job Title: Contentious Probate Solicitor (4+ Years PQE)

About the Role:
Our client, a well-established and reputable law firm based in Essex, is seeking an experienced Contentious Probate Solicitor with at least 4 years PQE to join their busy litigation department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented solicitor to work on a broad range of contentious probate matters, offering the chance to handle complex and high-value cases.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing their own caseload while benefiting from the support of a collaborative team. You will work on a variety of contentious probate issues, including disputes over wills, inheritance claims, and estate administration matters. The role requires a proactive and solution-oriented approach to clients’ legal needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a varied caseload of contentious probate matters, including disputes over the validity of wills, challenges to the administration of estates, and inheritance claims.
• Advise clients on a wide range of contentious probate issues, ensuring clear communication of complex legal concepts.
• Draft and review legal documents, including statements of claim, defences, and settlement agreements.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored legal advice throughout the litigation process.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, offering expert advice and guidance.
• Collaborate with team members to handle more complex and high-value matters.
• Stay updated on developments in contentious probate law and litigation practices.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Qualified Solicitor with at least 4 years PQE in contentious probate litigation.
• Strong experience handling a broad range of contentious probate matters.
• Proven ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts for clients.
• Strong drafting and legal research skills.
• Demonstrable experience representing clients in litigation, including court appearances.
• A client-focused approach with the ability to provide practical and effective solutions.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
