Are you a skilled Accounts Manager with experience in a legal environment? We’re seeking a driven professional to oversee daily operations of the Legal Accounts Team and ensure compliance across financial practices.

In this role, you’ll report to the Managing Partner and Compliance Officers, and providing essential support in everything from reconciliations and budgeting to VAT returns and financial reporting. You’ll also manage a talented team, ensuring accurate processing and compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR) and firm standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee team tasks, manage deposit accounts, and reconcile client and office accounts
  • Handle payment processing (CHAPS, BACS, international), client accounts, and VAT returns
  • Prepare monthly management reports and fee-earner information packs
  • Collaborate on budgeting, cashflow, and bonus calculations
  • Coordinate SAR audits and quarterly Management Accounts
  • Provide training and conduct appraisals for the Accounts team

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within a legal setting
  • Strong understanding of SAR and relevant compliance standards
  • Familiarity with Case Management Systems and Excel
  • Excellent numeracy, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage team workloads and mentor team members
