The Firm

Our client, an award-winning and Top Tier Legal 500 team specializing in Clinical Negligence, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Associate to join their prestigious team. Renowned for their expertise in brain injury, cancer, psychiatric injury, obstetrics and gynaecology cases, our client’s team of specialists is committed to providing exceptional legal services.

Main Purpose of the Role:

In this role, you will work closely with the Head of Department to develop strategy and business plans. Collaborating with the senior management team, other senior associates, and attending management meetings, you will play a pivotal role in driving change within the firm. Your responsibilities include supporting the Head of Department and Partners with client work, managing a complex portfolio of clients, developing your client base, and mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities:

* Accountable for managing a complex mixed caseload of clinical matters with limited supervision.
* Provide clients with high-quality legal advice, proactively managing client relationships, and going the extra mile to deliver excellent client service.
* Ensure the delivery of legal services in a cost-efficient manner for both the client and the firm.
* Set and deliver personal objectives, achieving the firm’s fee targets.
* Manage own time and that of the team effectively to achieve KPIs, including cash flow and credit-management systems.
* Analyse key performance indicators, implement new systems and processes to enhance the team’s performance.
* Work closely with the Head of Department to develop strategy and annual business plans, providing updates on progress against objectives.
* Advise partners and board members on opportunities to add value to the client experience and improve profitability.
* Make a significant contribution to the firm’s reputation and position within the community through excellence and specialist skills.
* Contribute to the delivery of a marketing strategy, including initiatives, events, networking, and speaking at seminars.
* Set and deliver team objectives, monitor performance, and provide professional guidance to team members.
* Lead, manage, and motivate staff, ensuring a clear understanding of goals and providing regular feedback.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Qualified Solicitor with significant PQE in Medical Negligence and Personal Injury.
* Proven experience managing a complex caseload with limited supervision.
* Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to motivate and develop junior team members.
* Excellent communication and client management skills.
* Proactive and results-oriented with a commitment to achieving the firm’s objectives.
