Our Commercial Property team of legal experts and Legal 500 recommended lawyers are highly experienced in advising investors, housebuilders, landowners, developers, property management companies, educational establishments, charities and care service providers on acquisitions, leases, and disposals.

To support our ambitious growth plans, we are now looking for a Plot Sales Fee Earner for our Commercial Property team at our Derby head office.

The Plot Sales Fee Earner will assist fee-earners and work alongside support staff in our Commercial Property team and will assist solicitors with a wide range of plots sales matters including working on behalf of national and regional house builders and bespoke developers.

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Property, this is a full time, permanent role working Monday to Friday 08:45 to 17:00.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting for both national and regional house builders and bespoke developers
  • Preparing and issuing plot sales contract packs and paperwork
  • Dealing with pre-contract enquiries where required
  • Processing exchange of contracts
  • Preparation of relevant completion statements and undertaking completion procedures
  • Making use of Land Registry online, undertaking Land Registry applications and online SDLT returns for the broader Commercial Property team
  • Residential development work including development site purchases
  • Infrastructure agreements, deeds of grant and easement, license, transfers of public open space
  • Drafting of plot sales site set up documentation
  • Other aspects of commercial property work including licenses to assign, lease renewals, license for alterations, Land Registry and Companies House applications

You will:

  • Have a previous experience of plot sales in a Commercial Property department
  • Have existing paralegal experience within Commercial Property
  • Possess excellent client care and communication skills
  • Be a hard-working and highly motivated individual with the ability to work cohesively as part of a larger team
