The Role

  • Lead and develop the Family department.

  • Manage a varied, high-quality caseload of privately funded Family matters.

  • Provide expert advice on divorce, separation, financial, and children matters.

  • Act as a senior contact for complex client issues.

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships.

  • Mentor junior team members.

  • Identify growth opportunities and develop new work sources.

  • Build relationships with local professionals and referrers.

  • Collaborate with other departments for cross-referrals.

  • Contribute to the firm's strategic direction.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Stay updated on Family Law developments and promote best practices.

About You

  • Significant post-qualification experience in Family Law.

  • Strong background in private Family matters, especially divorce and financial remedy.

  • Ability to manage complex caseloads independently.

  • Strong advocacy, negotiation, and drafting skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to develop client and professional relationships.

  • Leadership or management experience, or a desire to lead a department.

  • Commercially focused with an interest in business development.

  • Understanding of risk management and compliance.

  • Collaborative and approachable leadership style.

  • Local connections and regional market knowledge are advantageous.
