The Role
Advise and represent clients in Court of Protection Health & Welfare matters.
Handle deprivation of liberty challenges and Section 21A applications.
Make best interests decisions regarding residence and care.
Manage medical treatment and contact applications.
Resolve mental capacity disputes and safeguarding issues.
Work on complex cases involving vulnerable adults.
Advise family members and liaise with social workers and healthcare professionals.
Prepare cases for hearings and develop advocacy skills.
About You
Experience in Court of Protection Health & Welfare is essential.
Strong understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
Confident dealing with deprivation of liberty matters.
Ability to work with vulnerable clients and their families.
Strong communication and client-care skills.
Capable of managing a complex caseload effectively.
Advocacy experience or a desire to develop this skill.
Empathy, professionalism, and sound judgement are crucial.
