The Department: Their esteemed family department, recognized for handling high-value and intricate claims, is at the forefront of addressing complex legal matters. Specialising in cases involving foreign property, cross-border issues, and cross-jurisdictional challenges, they pride themselves on a constructive and conciliatory approach to family law. Their team excels in both mediation and collaborative practice, demonstrating effectiveness in litigation when necessary. In 2023, The Legal 500 acknowledged Their Family Law team for going above and beyond to fully understand every client’s case.

Other Information: This is a confidential hybrid role, providing the flexibility to work both from their Cambridge office and remotely.

Main Responsibilities: The successful candidate will:
* Collaborate closely with the lead partner to formulate strategic plans and annual business objectives for the office and its surrounding areas.
* Engage with the senior management team, senior associates, and attend management meetings as needed, providing updates on progress and contributing to driving positive change within the Firm.
* Assume responsibility for managing a complex mixed caseload of client matters without supervision, delivering high-quality legal advice and proactively managing client relationships.
* Set and achieve objectives individually and through the team, ensuring team members understand their goals and providing professional guidance as needed.
* Lead, manage, and motivate staff, fostering an understanding of goals related to individual and team objectives.
* Achieve the firm’s fee targets and mentor junior team members to do the same.
* Ensure efficient and timely credit management processes, including time recording, lock-up, cash flow, profitability, and billing.
* Oversee the quantity, quality of work, and outcomes achieved by the team to maximize overall contribution and performance.
* Analyse key performance indicators, leverage technology, and implement new systems and processes to enhance and improve the team’s performance.
* Advise partners and board members on opportunities to add value to the client experience and improve team profitability.
* Contribute significantly to the firm’s reputation and community standing through excellence in work and specialist skills, attracting new clients and introducers.
* Contribute significantly to professional and community activities to support the firm’s broader initiatives.
* Be accountable for the delivery of a marketing strategy and plan, encompassing individual or team marketing initiatives, events, networking, speaking engagements, and publication contributions.
* Undertake additional technical specialisms to support the firm’s and individual’s strategic goals.
Family Services, Advice, and Support: The candidate will provide expertise in family services, advice, and support, including but not limited to:
* Advising clients on divorce law, children, financial and DV issues, encompassing the unmarried family and enforcement, appeals, setting aside, and variation.
* Providing counsel on cohabitation agreements and premarital agreements.
* Drafting necessary documents to support legal advice.
* Advising clients on wider implications of transactions or advice.
* Conducting negotiations and advocating at court hearings.
* Keeping abreast of developments in family law and maintaining membership in Resolution.
* Undertaking any other reasonable duties assigned to the role.
